Tom Rychetský
He graduated from the Dance Conservatory in Prague. In 2000, he joined the Prague Chamber Ballet where he performed in the works of prominent Czech and foreign choreographers (J. Kodet, J. Kylián, P. Šmok, L. Vaculík, P. Zuska, Ch. Bruce, P. Delcroix and others). From the season 2003/2004 he was a member of the ballet ensemble of the Czech National Theatre in Prague where he danced in the choreographies of Jiří Kylián (Stamping ground, Petite Mort, Last Touch), Conny Janssen (Álbum Familiar), Itzik Galili (Through Nana´s Eye), Petr Zuska (Little Extreme, Svěcení jara and others) and Mats Ek (Carmen). In 2002, he established the dance group TODAnce Company in which he, together with David Stránský, focuses on choreography (Nanopicture, Č4yři, Šťastná sedma, Positivní…?). As a choreographer, he cooperates with the ballet ensemble of the Czech National Theatre in Prague (Take this out!, Pandemonium and Nevyřčené ticho). His cooperation with Viktor Konvalinka and Pavel Hejný led to the establishment of the independent ensemble Dekkadancers in 2009 (Umíněnost ztracených, Nedokončený kus, Kill de Bill, Deka pod dekou, Jakstohoven and Caves and Creatures). A cooperation with independent dance ensembles 420people, Prague Chamber Ballet and Bohemia Ballet followed. His most recent creations include the choreography and directing of the dance production “Airground” for Cirk La Putyka and choreography for a drama- documentary “3100°C mé krve” (3100 Degrees Centigrade of my Blood) for Horácké divadlo theatre in Jihlava. In 2011, he was awarded the 1 st Prize and Reward for the Best Work at the International Choreographic Competition in Pilsen for his choreography “Nedokončený kus” (Unfinished Piece). At the international video-art competition Janáček kontra expresionismus Brno 2010 which was held under the auspices of Jiří Kylián, he was awarded the 1 st Prize for his work Sinfonietta_Dekkadancers. Currently, he works as an independent choreographer and artist.
