Marek Pavlíček

marek_pavl_ek_tHe learned the musical basics and enthusiasm for music from his teacher Jan Prchal at the Primary School of Arts in Liberec, Jabloňová street. After graduating from the F. X. Šalda Grammar School in Liberec in 2010, he enrolled at the Conservatory in Prague to study Classical Singing (under supervision of Jiří Kubík) and Classical Composition (under supervision of Eduard Douša). As a singer, he cooperates externally with the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, Prague State Opera, South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice and other vocal-instrumental ensembles or individuals such as František Běhounek’s Ludus Musicus or concerts and performances of Zdeněk Zahradník. Since 2013 he has regularly performed at the Contemporary Music Days Festival (Dny soudobé hudby) as a member of the Association of Musical Artists and Scientists AHUV. As a composer, he first cooperated with the puppeteer ensemble Spojáček in Liberec, then, from 2012 to 2014, with Oldřich Vlček and his Virtuosi di Praga. In 2013 a first semi-authorial concert presenting new musical arrangements of unknown folk songs from the region of Moravian Slovakia titled „Povídajů ľudé“ was held. Since spring 2015 he has been a member of the Association of Czech Composers. In autumn 2015 he introduced, within his authorial concert, a large cycle of his songs for soprano voice and piano titled "Písně magdalské" accompanied by a cycle of melodramatic miniatures for one actress, string trio and piano. This program was repeated in Liberec in spring 2016. In April 2016, the first song from the above-mentioned cycle was performed at the McIntosh Theatre in Michigan as a part of a concert of Czech Vocal Literature. Other songs were performed within the educational program of the University of Michigan. Currently, he is composing a Missa brevis for the Liberec Archdeaconry.
