Choreographer and artistic director of The Ballet of the National Theatre Brno
Mário Radačovský graduated from the Dance Conservatory of Eva Jaczovej in Bratislava and in 1989 he joined Slovakian National Theatre Ballet, where he became a soloist very soon. In 1990 he won in Czechoslovakian ballet competition in category A.
During 1992–1999 he worked in Nederlands Dans Theater under the artistic director Jiří Kylián in Haag. In this company he had the opportunity to cooperate with most significant worldwide choreographers, among which belong Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Édouard Locke and many others.
In 1999 he became the main soloist of ballet company Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal. He participated in many prestigious ballet gala-performances, such as Gala des étoiles in Montreal (2000–2006), Gala Stars in Toronto (2003), World Stars Gala in Budapest (2005, 2007 and 2008) and Gala encounter in Prague (2003–2006). He danced at significant theatre stages, for example in Royal Winnipeg Ballet (2005), Ballet British Columbia (2004, 2006), Toronto (2005) and Jacob’s Pillow (2007).
As a choreographer Mário Radačovský introduced himself in 2002 by a piece of work called The Letter. The choreography pieces followed were Passage à l’eau trouble, Valse, Inšpirácia, Bolero, Shadows and Lights, Balansoire and others.
During the season 2010/2011 he worked on two significant projects. He created a choreography and direction of production Maria de Buenos Aires for Operetta Company in Romanian Bucharest and ballet Romeo a Julie for Grand Rapids Ballet Company in Michigan (USA).
In the following seasons he prepared premieres of productions Traja spolu, Queen, Osudové lásky, Romeo a Julia in Grand Rapids Ballet, Piano concert of Richard Dubr for Latvian national ballet, Bolero for Grand Rapids Ballet or Compulsive for Diablo Ballet San Francisco.
