Ennio Zappalà was born in Scordia, Sicily. He started studying dance under Lino Priviteri at L’Opéra Centro Professionale Danza. At 16, he was a principal dancer at the Itai ensemble; two years later, he moved to Switzerland to study at L’école-atelier Rudra Béjart in Lausanne, headed by Michel Gascard. In 2014 he was offered a collaboration with Mecklenburgische Staatstheater Schwerin, Germany under directors Sergei Gordienko and Jutta Ebnother. Ennio accepted the offer and performed at the theatre as a soloist and member of the ballet ensemble until 2018. In the following years, he collaborated as an independent dancer with the dance and music company ACE under director Gail Parmel in the UK. Zappalà has performed in various cities worldwide, including Jakarta, Beijing, and later also in Albania. At the beginning of the 2019/2020 season, Ennio joined the Liberec Ballet, where the audience can admire the artist’s talents and sense for music in the role of Florindo in the ballet The Servant of Two Masters. Ennio is a member of the Prague Chamber Ballet since the 2022/23 season.
