First serie of the cycle „On the Overgrown Path“ ends with a piece, which Janáček called „Screech-owl didn’t fly away“. Motif of a screech-owl, strong and dramatics such as well known Beethovens fateful symphony, gives tragic accent to the stage performance. Each piece of the cycle does not have any dramaturgic connection to another, except the fact, that all the pieces are authors inner testimonies. However the scene is a little bit different than the concert hall and Janáček would forgive us, that we added a little story from his another piece.
