Prague Chamber Ballet present two pieces at prestigious international festivals of contemporary dance in May and June 2015 in South Korea. Choreography „Guess how many stars are there“ will be presented at festival MODAFE in Seoul. New choreography „Black Mirror“ company present at Busan festival.

Filip Löbl and Hodei Iriarte Kaperotxipi joined the company at the beginning of the year. Filip studied at the Dance Conservatory in Prague, Hodei at the Dance Conservatory in Madrid. Both gained extensive experiences in the Baltic Dance Theatre in Gdansk.

A special gala performance dedicated to the celebration of 50th anniversary of founding of Studio Ballet Prague will be performed on 16th November at 7pm at the Estates Theatre in Prague. 3 Czech Quartets – a new premiere of Prague Chamber Ballet will be performed on October 5th at the Estates Theatre in Prague. The evening will feature three different generation of choreographers creating on the music of significant Czech composers – Pavel Šmok, Mário Radačovský and Hana Polanská Turečková. The evening will be accompanied by Zemlinsky Quartet – a winner of the Bordeaux 2010 prize. Tickets available here.
Successful tour in Mexico

On August 5th the Prague Chamber Ballet came back from a successful tour in Mexico where participated in several prestigious festivals. The ensemble brought awards for performances, winning the choreographic competition and gained a lot of great experiences. Read about Mexico travel here.

Company is present at the prestigious International Dance Festival – „Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporanéa Lila López“, in San Luis Potosí and in two others festivals in cities Querétaro and Salinas. In tree performances we introduce choreography „The Condition of Disappearance“ by Ji-Eun Lee and choreography „Mono No Aware“ by Hana Polanská Turečková.

New choreography BEAT was exclusively created by renowned choreographers Uri Ivgi (Israel) and Johan Greben (Netherlands) for the Prague Chamber Ballet. Dynamic, very physical, passionate and ecstatic choreography is a statement about the state of the contemporary world. The Snowflake Award 2013 for the best dance performance received an artistic director Hana Polanská Turečková within the 29th Sarajevo Winter Festival for the choreography „Mono No Aware“ at the National Theatre in Sarajevo. As part of the jubilee of 30th festival Sarajevo Winter the Prague Chamber Ballet presented new expressive work by Korean choreographer Ji-Eun Lee „The Condition of Disappearance“ on March, 7th. Trio in G Minor opened Homecomings in Ostrava

Ballet company of National Theatre in Ostrava introduced a premiere of choreography „Trio in G Minor“ by Pavel Šmok, studied by principal assistant Kateřina Dedková – Franková within the ballet triptych Homecomings last Thursday. After more than twenty-two years works of Pavel Šmok returned on the boards of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava. The staging of Smetana’s „Trio in G minor“ anticipates the Year of Czech Music 2014. The nearest performance follow on 05.12.2013 and 24.01.2014 at 6,30pm in the Jiří Myron Theatre. PCB in South Korea

Already this Sunday we are leaving for South Korea to representing Czech culture at the dance festival on the island of Jeju and the capital city of Seoul. We will present „The Condition of Disappearance“ of Korean choreographer Ji-Eun Lee and for Seoul will the program be enriched with the title of „Mono No Aware“ choreographed by artistic director Hana Polanská Turečková. Big stages of Jeju Culture Theatre and Culture Topdong Seaside stage on the island of Jeju and Mapo Arts Center in Seoul awaiting us. Performances will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the personal auspices of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Olša ir. in Seoul.

Lenka Bílková is a permanent member of the Prague Chamber Ballet since 2008. With dance she began at dance internships, when in 2002 won a scholarship to ArteDanza internship in Calabria, Italy (International Dance Meeting). Lenka Bílková currently studied a fairy tale „Who is the Most Powerful in the World?“ choreographed by Hana Polanská Turečková. Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava welcomes one of the most prominent Czech choreographers of the 20th century. Gala evening called Phenomenon Šmok presents the ultimate creation of Pavel Šmok on the occasion of his 85th birthday. The program will feature choreographies Stabat, Trio in G minor, Musica Slovaca and Sinfonietta. Jaroslava Janečková studied Dance Conservatory of Prague, which she completed by leaving certificate in 2011. During her studies she participated at several foreign internships in Royal Conservatoire in Holland and in Royal Ballet School Antwerpen in Belgium. She currently staged a fairy tale „Who is the Most Powerful in the World?“ in choreography of Hana Polanská Turečková. Choreography of Hana Polanská Turečková „Mono No Aware“ will be perform at the International Festival Sarajevo Winter (Sarajevo winter) on March 20th at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Šimon Kubáň is from this year’s season a soloist of the Prague Chamber Ballet. He studied at the Prague Dance Centre and worked for three years in South Ballet Theatre in České Budějovice.
